The impressive new manufacturing facility being constructed by Fuchs Lubricants (Australasia) Pty Ltd is on-track for completion early 2017 as the organisation continues to increase its Australasian manufacturing capacity.
The plant, which is located at Beresfield, NSW, is planned to take over full production from the existing Newcastle plant by April 2017.
The turning of the first ‘sod’ took place with the building contractor, headed by Fuchs Deputy Managing Director Stewart Knight, Allan Morton, director of ATB Morton and a group of Newcastle-based employees - who have all been with Fuchs for more than 15 years during which they have been operating out of the existing Newcastle plant.
Fuchs already services its Australian customer-base with 15 distribution sites throughout Australia and New Zealand and over 95% of products manufactured locally in Melbourne and Newcastle.
Fuchs Lubricants Australasia’s Deputy Managing Director, Stewart Knight explained the turning of the first sod was another landmark moment in Fuchs’ development in Australasia.
“It was a historic moment for us as an organisation and it was great to be able to share that with some of our most loyal and appreciated staff.
“We want to continue to manufacture our great range of products to the very highest standards locally and this new facility designed in conjunction with the Fuchs global engineering team will be state of the art.
“This new facility is pivotal to our long term strategy of being close to our customers and supplying products as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Mr. Knight.
It also allows continuity in processes as well as our people.
Fuchs manufactures a diverse range of engine, gear and hydraulic oils, engine coolants, grease and cleaning products to meet the unique demands of the Australasian market.
Managing Director Wayne Hoiles stated, “The commitment to this facility and local manufacturing again underscores Fuchs global investment program to continue to develop its capabilities into the future in all facets of its business and right around the world including the Australasian region.”
